My Story

After many years of working in corporations, I have come full circle to live my passion - personal development, counseling, and specifically, understanding and healing trauma.

In 2013, I gained my diploma at the Phoenix Institute of Transpersonal Counseling in Melbourne, Australia.   I have continued my education by studying the work of Gabor Maté, Stephen Porges, Thomas Hübl, Peter Levine, Deb Dana, Bessel van der Kolk, and others whose work in trauma, continues to inform me.

About Margie Fann

More about Margie

As an advocate for justice, change and improvement, my strength lies in doing my own inner work, my personal growth and trusting my inner wisdom and guidance.   Caring deeply for people and working in service of trauma awareness, understanding how trauma affects us, being able to hold sacred space, being present to the pain and suffering of others, I believe the journey for all of us is back to wholeness.

I have trained lay trauma counselors to improve their understanding of domestic violence and how to more effectively counsel victims of domestic and intimate partner violence; sharing practices and strategies for recovery, including building resilience, going from just surviving to thriving

My volunteer work with the Charter for Compassion Education Institution as Project Manager, optimizes my passion for the education of all things compassion related.

As a volunteer co-facilitator of the on-line Tough Love Support Group, we assist families dealing with loved ones struggling with addiction of various kinds. The support group assists family members through crises and also offers an educational component.
